Network help for a7n8x deluxe plz!

I have an a7n8x deluxe w/ the additional ethernet built in to facilitate small networks.

I'm running xp pro on the a7n8x and windows 98 on the 366 emachines. The ethernet in both comps is working as far as I can tell. The lights flash on both and all...

Problem is, it's not working. I should be able to surf w/ the emach as well as the a7n8x if they're connected and I can't. I should also be able to share files, but I see none of that happening either!

I used the xp disc to set up both computers. I've not disable xps firewall as I have no idea where it is. I've seen this suggested in some other posts.

The function of all this will be to crunch for FAD, so I'd like to get it set up to be crunching before we go on vacation (tuesday morning)

Thanks!!!

got it! It's simple really, you just go into control panel, network settings, then select the connection that's firewalled, right click, properties, advanced, and choose not to be protected.

Now to start crunching!!!!

How is the a7n8x deluxe working for you? I'm thinking about getting one.

Works great, this network is a cool little feature. Mine's a refurb from newegg, $65, plus 23 for the accessory set from asus for a total of $88. about $40 less than the retail version. This is by far one of the best boards I've ever used. But, be warned, it only likes the good ram, mushkin, corsair, etc.
I'm using Mushkin.

Thanks

What's in the accessory kit?

I've heard of the RAM issues. I have a stick of Corsair but my particluar one isn't listed by ASUS as compatible.

I guess I can always get different RAM.
