Kids can "regular DDR" be dual channel ram?

Ive been wondering if the newest Ram channel technology known as Dual channel DDR is requiring a new kind of ram or if my old ram will perform under this as well..

I mean, it would make sense that companies are selling those dual channel ddr packs for more money just because it says "dual channel ddr" on it.

ill have 2 sticks of 512 PC2700 on my 8rda+ [nforce2]

yea, nea?

Are they matching pairs? Same manufacturer and model?

It's more of a marketing trick than anything else. Companies can jack prices up by making stuff like this.

Kingston 512 - $85

Cheap, works great but you will want to get some nice Vantec heatspreads for $5 from newegg, I ran 512 Kingston on my last comp and it got pretty hot.
