MP3 Tag Editors >:(

Hello There,

After upgrading to a new mp3 player (winamp) i decided to go a head and edit the tags of some of my mislabled mp3's. I tried to use the editor that winamp has but it wouldnt let me change anything, it would always say that an error had occured. So i just went to the folder they were in and right clicked on them and went to their properties and filled in the info that i wanted. Then i went back to winamp and refreshed the library. To my surprise all the mp3's that i had edited now showed up with nothing for the artist name (it was the artist names that i was editing). So i then downloaded a couple of mp3 tag editors but each one of them brought up different stuff for the arist info and wouldnt change any thing.

What is an editor that is compatible with winamp??

This make me very mad, i spent like 2hours renaming the files and now they are all screwed up! AAHHHHHH!!!!!!!




Any one know anything about this??

well there are 2 versions of tags so you may have only changed one version..........the old version of winamp i have allows me to change both tags so ive never tried anything else for editing tags

im using version 2.9 of winamp.

I also just figured out that this problem has something to do with the MAD plugin that im using

just curious but why do you post this in the community?? and why arent the mods here and move this to the right forum?

i had one or two but both of them just messed everything up, best is you take your CDs and use a converter which writes the TAGs (Everything else like downloadin from internet would be illegal anyway , except in switzerland )
