Systems rubys puter is ailing..

after plugging everything back in,i found that wifeys puter wont boot . if i boot into safe mode(holding del during bios screen) when the desktop comes up,just the background is visible,no icons or taskbar. then windows informs me that there is no mouse hooked up.

if i boot and just let it just sit,it hangs at this screen:

i ve switched ports between keyboard and mouse 6 times or so and rebooted, and even went as far as trying different mouse. the usual mouse is a ms trackball, and it lights up when used, tho doesnt get recognized by the puter.

the machine was working fine all morning, till i disconnected everything and attempted to plug"and play" plugs are fine, but no "and play" anywhere

any ideas??

manythanx,eh?

he said I didnt have to post here but he dosent know me that well, all I did is read the part in the message that popped up that read "shut off computer prior to connecting mouse, turn on computer when finished" and ta daa we were connected. Some times this computer thing isnt so complicated. I love to show off.
