Biostar M7VIW MB Question.

Anyone have any experience with this board. My son's FIC MB died and I would purchase the new MB and move his existing components over for the time being and later upgrade his processor and ram in a few months.

He has an Athlon 1ghz (100 fsb) with 1 gig pc133 ram (two 512 sticks) , will most likely upgrade to an XP 2400 or 2600 with 512 pc2100 ram in December.

The video is a GForce 3 Ti200 card.

Thanks in advance

I have not tried the M7VIW yet but I did install an M7VIG PRO mATX mobo in the kid's PC a few weeks ago. No problems encountered. Nice mobo for the price.

I have used the M7VIW in a build for a friend of mine, and it's been up and running for 6 months with no hardware related issues. Definately a worthwhile buy for what you need it for, and Newegg has them at a more than fair price, considering it has most of the necessities built in.

I just asembled a box with this mbd last weekend w/ a 1.3 Duron and it runs great. Might want to consider this esspecially for the low price. I run a 64 mgb vid card, 384 mb RAM , DVD and CDRW. Does all I need it to.

The setup that I ended up using for my friend was like this:

1700+ Athlon XP
512 MB of PC2100
M7VIW
And he already had a GeForce4 Ti4600

Among other things... His system is fast enough to handle modern games, and it was a good deal faster than his old Celeron 333 system. He uses it for games, office apps, and most other normal uses, and it does everything he wants it to, with a good amount of speed.

I built the system with the board

and it works very well. I used an XP2400+ processor with 1 gig ram, Soundblaster 5.1 and Windows XP Pro. It is very stable and fast. I had no problems at all with the setup.
