i would check with the manufactuer of your camera first. i have heard stories of some brands of mem did not work in some cameras . i have that same brand CF card in my camera( Nikon coolpix 3100) and i have not had any problems
the "x" is the speed of the card (how fast it stores the pic) the card i have does not say the speed on it .

1X equals 150 kilobytes (KB) per second. The higher the speed rating, the faster your camera will be able to write images to the memory card.
1024 Bytes = 1 KB (kilobyte)
1024 Kilobytes = 1 MB (megabyte)
1024 Megabytes = 1 GB (gigabyte)
