AMD XP 2500+ barton 333 fsb HELP!!!

Hey guys I need some help. I just purchased a processor off of www.newegg.com and it is a "AMD ATHLON XP 2500+ BARTON 333-OEM" processor. I also have purchased a "SHUTTLE AN35N" MOTHERBOARD with the nforce ultra 400 chipset: http://www.googlegear.com/jsp/Produc...ctCode=241201. when I put the cpu in it set a 100FSB and 1.1GHZ with an unknown cpu type. When I change the FSB in the bios to the max 250 The computer loses video and doesnt post so I clear the cmos and reboot the fsb goes down to 100 when I go to 133 the cpu is detected as a amd ATHLON XP 1900+ after I get the cpu to detect I boot and then it says innaccesable boot device I booted with this drive when I had my old board its a western digital 40gb 8mb cach with windows 2k. My bios is up to date according to shuttle. My cpu is green, and all the pics that I see of the "333fsb barton 2500+" are brown. Do you guys know whats going on? The board supports upto 400FSB with no jumper settings, its like an auto detect. Whats going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
-Louis

Try setting it to 166mhz system bus, that's the setting needed to use the 333mhz FSB

yea but 166 does not = 333, even at that frsh diag said the max speed of the cpu is only 1.5 and a true 2500+ barton is at 1.83 minnimum. What do I do?, is it a fake? The amd cpuid utility said its an authentic amd. Also could they have sent me the 1800+ thoughbred? because those are green and run at a minimum of 1.1 ghz?, also why does the fsb automaticly go to 100FSB on 2 differant boards? and why is my hard drive an inaccessable boot device with this board?, it was workin fine with the other board?

Thanks

Louis

166 x 2 = 333mhz

No you can't just boot the old hard drive into the system and expect it to work. It has a set of drivers designed for basically another system. You'll have to format the hard drive and re-install Windows.

166 does = 333... Take the advise given to you and set it at 166... The FSB is dual pumped, so its 166x2 as already mentioned... Same with intels which are quad pumped, their fsb is actually 200x4, thats how they achieve 800mhz bus.

Yup, mmmhum, them boys are onto something there. So now you listen good.

Oh yeah and 166x11(xp2500 clock multiplier)=1.83! Well approximately anyway.
