Kids Intel D865PERL - Question

I recently put together a new system for a buddy of mine and used the Intel D865PERL as the motherboard. We installed WinXP Pro and everything seemed fine. But, one thing I was noticing is that during the POST, the computer would hang and display a four-digit code in the bottom right corner of the screen "0075" followed by a very brief "0078". After about 20-25 seconds of this, the computer would continue to boot normally. I'm guessing that this code means something? I have an Intel board in my current computer (D845EBG2) and I don't receive any codes of this kind and my computer POSTs very quickly.

Now, another problem has cropped up. The CD-ROM has begun to act up. Typically it works alright, but sometimes it won't read certain CDs, hang the computer, or completely lock it up. This is one of only a couple devices transferred from his older system and is about a year or so old.

Do these two problems have any significance with each other? And also, what significance do the "0075" and "0078" codes carry?

Thanks ahead of time!

No special text on the screen?

All I can find is this. May help, may not. That board has an AMI bios.
