Cut to windows

I seem to be having a problem with my video regardless of what I do. Try to run BF1942 in multiplayer, and it dies to windows..no BSOD or anything...just quits. Same with 3DMark2001, starts running the first demo and quits.

I've run 2 different video cards, 3 different versions of the Nvidia drivers with no luck.

Here's the thing..My system has been bogged down with files ( my 40 gig is pretty much full, as well as my 15 gig drive ). I'm wondering if I have a bloated registry that's causing problems ( I run reg cleaner often though ) or if I need to do something else.

I'd remove all the video drivers, but I want to make sure I get rid of all of them if I do....What am I looking for, and where ( win98se ).

have you tried freeing up some space?

what are the system specs? ram? cpu?

have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

perhaps it is a directx thing. try updating or reinstalling that

Done it all, I've cleaned up about 5 gig worth, defragged a badly fragged drive, installed DX8.1, 9.0 twice, reinstalled the game twice....

I'm running an Abit KR7a 1700+ 512mb PC2100, GF4ti 4200 ( nice new fast memory Asus I just got..w00t ). I'm to the point anyway that now that I built the new system for the wife, that I can save all my data onto disk, and format and clean install.
