Does it matter if the cpu is green or brown?

It would be good if i got a link or something explaining this.

Thanks

Color matters not a bit.

because technology isn't racist!!! j/k

It's only a shell to hold the real important parts that are inside. think of it this way, does the color of your computer case affect your systems performance?

Here is a the link to a search I did for "hard" facts for you. I read at least 10 or 12 of them, but couldn't find any "official" or definitive word on it.

My understanding is that color is more connected to what fab plant the chip was made in. Also, that AMD was supposed to be moving all their chips ( at least XP's and Bartons ) to green. None of this can be confirmed.

I just opened the drawer next to me. I have three TBreds in there. One week 10 ( 0310 ); it is brown. 2 week 19 ( 0319 ) >> they're both green.

Who knows? For all intents and purposes, the color doesn't matter. That has been my experience, and I have at least 10 TBreds running here.

oh yeah, the link. read for yourself:

Not one dif. THis is all over the .net. THe question that is and the only answers so far have been pure specualtion. Some like to look for somthing that not there yunno. On another site were taking a poll on max oclocks of 2500+ both greenie and brownie (LOL). So far neck and neck. Same avg. temps same avg. oclocks. Both same specs-so the dif escapes me? Maybe you should start a poll here...

I'd rather have a green one, they're not so ugly

LOL, once they're under a heatsink ( where they spend the vast majority of their lives ) it doesn't matter what color they are. They could be pink with yellow dots!
