Which distro is easiest to use?

I want to toy around with Linux but I don't want to have to spend days at a time dicking around with stuff trying to get it to work. Which distro will be the easiest to use and have the best RPM support for programs?

redhat has good support for rpms as well so take your pick

Anoter vote for Drake and Redhat. Right now I am keeping it simple (well somewhat simple. ) with Drake.
I want to learn a few things here or there and then install debian.

SuSE (sue-suh)

I've found Mandrake to be nothing but an annoyance.

I am in Mandrake right now. Set it up last night for the first time. Before then, I have only played around with the "Live" cd versions of Debian (Knoppix) and Slackware.

Drake was very easy to install. A bit slow to install, I think, but easy nonetheless. (and I say slow compared to a W2K setup) I would definitely recommend it! Very easy to navigate around; although, I really have not tried to do anything yet.

If you just want to play with it, get the live version of slack and give it a try.

I do not think that you will be disappointed with it. However, with the slack live version, you don't even need a hardrive. I used it to give my boy's an internet conection when I didn't have a hardrive for their machine.

Hope you have as good an experience with it as I am having.
