Two channels of RAM can be accessed at once, rather than one. Meaning a certain amount of memory goes to one channel, and the next bit of it to the other, so the memory can be accessed faster.

What does it take to use dual channel? Do I just need the same type of memory on each for instance , like the same mb and speed? Any kind of special memory needed?

You need a mobo that supports it. Alot of the new Nforce 2 boards have that feature. Others too not just NF2. I think?
No special ram needed. As long as your board supports DDR ram. Some support faster ram like 3200. Both sticks have to be same speed for it to work.
Correct if i'm wrong anybody.

As long as both were the same speed. Not sure about low density.
They both have to be 128 ,256 or 512 you get the idea.

Just remember to put them in the right slot. Since you board has three slots. Put one in slot 1 and the other in slot 3 or 2 and 3.
