ThermalRight SLK-900U--Worth it?

I currently have the following:

AMD Athlon 2000+ XP "Palomino"
Asus A7M266 with Thermaltake Orb Cooler (using Radio Shack Grease)
Thermaltake Volcano 7 using Arctic Silver 3

The Referrer URL for this one is:

http://heatsinkfactory.com/cgi-bin/H...talogno=HS-011

The Manufacturer's URL is:

http://www.thermalright.com

Is it WORTH IT to upgrade to the Thermalright Cooler? Right now my CPU Temperature (as of this post) is running at 57 Degrees Celcius and my Motherboard is burning at 40 Degrees Celcius (due to the Summer Heat). The fan is running at a max of 5113RPM. What do you think I need to do?

Hint: My Motherboard's Northbridge is an AMD 761.

If the system is 40c then that heatsink won't do much more. That's HOT. You should work on getting better air flow through your case first off.

Telexen is right... you will just be blowing the same hot air onto a better heatsink.
Put a blow hole sucking in air over your CPU and maybe a blowhole out the top of case pushing air out.

A blowhole in the top of your case could reduce temps by as much as 10C like mine did. I have 8 80mm case fans and my temps are 48C, 38C. Almost the same as yours in the case temp. Your cpu temp is still very high. The 900U will fit a 90mm fan. You could maybe geta 800U for less money and pop a decent 80mm fan on there I have a 50CFM 40db fan and I get 40C 30C when it isn't 110F outside. Great sinksink though.

BTW, I'm switching to water cooling.

My suggestion if you really want to upgrade your HSF is to replace that noisy Volcano with an SK-7 and an adjustable 80mm fan and use some AS Céramique .
you can get the whole setup for less than the price of just the heatsink...and it will still be overkill for the CPU you have.

pictures always help . if your case is packed with wires maybe some cable work will do it and you won't need to "operate" on the case

As promised, here are the images of my current case, plus a peek inside it. In addition, I have added pics of the proof that I *do* have Front Case Fans as well. Unfortunately, they are all Generic-Brand Case Fans, so bear with me.
