Do any Athlon XP M/B Supports DDR EC?

Have looked through various vendors and it appears that VIA, SIS and Nvidia do not support DDR EC.

The only boards that I can find that support DDR EC memory are the dual MP m/b with AMD chipsets and the latest Intel chipsets for the P4.

Does anyone know if any of the current Athlon XP chipsets supports DDR EC Memory?

Kind Regards

As no one has replied, it looks like there isn't any chipsets for XP's supporting DDR ECC. What should I go for then?
P4 or MP or just throw away 2GB DDR ECC?

Try selling it on eBay or similar... some server owner may want it.

ECC is for servers and worstations. Thats why XP dont bother with it. It costs more and is slower then normal ddr. Cause its always checking data in ram for integrity.

Just confirming that this can be done. Can DDR ECC memory be used as standard DDR (Non-ECC) memory in something like a NForce2 or KT600 motherboard?

Yes. But bear in mind that most ECC DIMMs these days are also registered. This is an electrically different arrangement, which also needs chipset support to work AT ALL. Typically, ECC-incapable chipsets do not have support for registered DIMMs either.
