You ever tried....

Alright so here's the scene...

I'm running my xp2500 @ 2.2ghz (11x200), absolutely rock solid!
Underload (CpuBurnIn or Prime95) might temps are reaching 55C, now I'm okay with this but I'm a TWEAKFREAK! (when anyone asks what do you do with your computer I usually reply "Benchmark it").

So here's my point. There are holes in the back of my case, and I suspect these holes just suck the warm air, being ejected by the case and psu fans, right back in. The computer sits in a corner.

This is my idea, I'll cover these dastardly holes with some space-age material like duck tape!

What do you think? Remembering of course that "There's a fine line between clever and stupid".

C.

It depends on the airflow in your case. True it may be sucking air in, but it could be helping shoot it out. Couldn't hurt to try, if it doesn't help or makes it worse take the tape off

Send a message via AIM to Gait_Keeper
can you mount a fan there??

consider making a blowhole in the top of your case.

Funny you mentioned this. I tried it a while ago and just got around to taking the tape off now. For me it seemed to be just slightly higher temp with tape on.
