T-bred: "A" or "B"

Hi gang.

I ordered an xp1700 t-bred from Newegg. I'm probably too late to get that legendary overclocker but I'm hoping.

How do I tell what I got? I've read in the review that the "A" cpu wasn't too bad on overclocking and since my mobo probably won't see more than 1.8 core speed (2200) I'll be happy with it if I got that. I plan to up the multiplier and leave the fsb alone because of my agp, pci, and mems. I found a site that says I can run t-breds on my Asus a7v133-c (rev 1.05. <- notice the dot after) but that's one site. I didn't want to trust it til someone here posted a link from amd site themself that says, yea that mobo will run t-breds. Hurray!

EDIT: By the way, it calls for bios 1007 and I have 1009.

check this thread http://www.techimo.com/forum/t59803.html if the cpu is already installed and you don't want to pull it out then you can d/l cpuID and it will give you the core id to check

Got the cpu today. It's a T-Bred "A". Got it running at 1.60(xp1900+) on 1.55v and my temps are 51-52c. That's the same temps I had with my xp1700 palo at 1.47. Don't look like I can go faster without raising the temps.

at 1.55v those temps should be a lot lower.

T-bred "A"s were known to be be hot running cpus so I'm not really surprised but it was warm in my room today. Right now the temp's at 48c so it was better than the 1700 palo. I have ac but the summer's hot here. At least I got it going at 1900+(12x133) speed and it's snappier than it was. I have a v9 heatsink with v8 fan on it because the power supply's in the way on the v9 fan. The v9 fan's in the side panel with a homemade blowhole on the top.

EDIT: The cpu program that Jerry posted about showed unknown in OPN number and Annonce date. ??
