Need help installing Mandrake. Error Code

I am needing some help trying to install Mandrake 9.1 on a computer here at work. Everytime I try to do a graphical install it goes about 8/10 ths of the way and the screen goes black and nothing happens. When I try it again by hitting F1 key and try installing it under text mode it constantly scrolls this error message: "APIC error on CPU0: 04(04)". I got windows 2000 to install okay but Mandrake is having some difficulties installing.

The mobo is a Gigabyte GA 7DPXDW-P, AMD 768 chipset, AMD Athlon MP 1800+, 512mb RAM

look for related options to try like

linux noacpi

or

pci=noacpi

acpi=off

You could also try turning off related items in BIOS

acpi=off worked for me, pci=noacpi wasnt a valid option.
