My motherboard won't run at full potential.

OK, I've had this problem before and I dont remember how to fix it. Anyways, I have an epox 8rda+ motherboard, and an ahtlon xp 2500. Ok the motherboard wont allow me to run it at 166 hz(333 hz) like it is supposed to. I can only run it at 100 for some reason. and it says my processors is only an athlon 11000.

I remember than I started the computer in agressive mode or something like that to fix it last time. But I have no idea what to do now. I've already got the motherboard in rma status I just have to pack it up. But if anyone has any ideas as to help, I would be much appreciative. This is just getting on my nerves. Thanks!

lol I meant 1100, anyways. I already reset the cmos and all that good stuff to no avail. It will start up at the full 333 and it says athlon xp 2500, but then it freezes. It will only start "correctly" at 100 hz. and I dont know why.

sometimes heat can be an issue...sometimes a bios flash is in order but only after youve exhausted all other possibilities.
Good luck.

nforce2 thats correct. I've actually found another board I've been looking through on techimo. http://www.techimo.com/forum/tid5472...pn2/index.html

Looks like a lot of people are having nforce2 problems. The thing is though...I got it to work before. So I dont really WANT to RMA it...but I will if I have to. I got 14 days before they decide I cant do it. I'm gonna try the whole "remove and replace the cpu", and the "reset cmos while the battery is out".

And its all because the mobo makers left off a jumper that WAS on the reference design. Man, If I was in the US, I'd give some of those boardmakers a seeing to. grrr,
