Repairing...

My computer screen (19 inch CRT) has some minor scratches in it. The scratches are in the very middle of the screen and are about 3 inches across. They are not very deep and I can only feel them if I run my fingernails over them. They don't affect the function of my moniter, but they are very annoying as they distort light coming out of my screen.

What is the best way to go about repairing or removing these scratches? Can they be repaired without having someone professional do it? Do i have to replace my moniter?

I may be wrong about this but Im pretty sure you can use glass scratch repair stuff they sell for peoples eye glasses...It is like a black crayon that you rub over the scratches and then buff away with very soft fabric or shammy.
I personally dont know of anything else that might work...I would go to an optical store and ask if they carry something like that.
