I have Geil PC 3500, I think it's very good RAM. I read some good reviews on it before I bought it. I think it's very popular overseas, just starting to gain popularity in the US. Even if you don't like it, at least it'll look nice through your window (assuming you have a window)!

a buddy of mine got 256MB PC3200 with a heatspreader and it worked like a charm... now as far as being able to tell you if he actually tested its "true" potential... i cannot guess, but if i borrowed it and ran some sandra tests/OC FSB etc.. i could tell you.

It is some pretty good stuff as far as i gather, but man alive, thats some expensive ram! hope you see the benefit of the dual channeling!

The A7N8X can be picky with memory types, even for brand name chips.

I am running 2x GeIL 256 MB PC-3200 Value Ram at PC-3500 without a voltage bump, and it is still far from its max overclock. Check the articles section here at TIMO for my review.

Not to disparage your friends opinion.....but what exactly is he basing his sucky review of it on?
Every setup and system is different...everyones settings in bios are different, every board handles memory different... You should wait till you get yours and try it...I would not worry I have heard it is good Ram myself.

I remember Rob posting something about Geil in the news or reviews section. Can't remember which, since Rob posts way too much stuff to keep track off.

realistically that means very little...overclocking has alot of different factors involved....sometimes most importantly the mobo.
If on the off-chance you have an identical setup to his then maybe you will have similar luck but then again different batches of Ram can be totally different as well. Do not worry overly at this point, You can buy the most expensive best name Ram and have no luck with it and then you could buy the cheapest generic and have it work very well... There are no definites.
