Network on Broadband

Hi, I currently have 7+ machines on a local network at home, I use AnalogX Proxy server to connect my machines to the net via dialup for uploading completed FAD work units.

Broadband is now available in my area (HORAY!!!) and naturally, I have to have it.

The question is this...

Once I am connected to Broadband, can I still use the proxy to connect my other machines, or do I need a Router as BT tell me?

I am using Windows2K on all machines, and MS Internet Explorer with MS Outlook Express.

Many thanks in advance...

you can use AnalogX Proxy and dont need a router

AnalogX Proxy is used to share out interenet services. It works with dial up and broadband.

Yes, the proxy will work, just as before! BT just want to sell the router!

Enjoy the broadband - I know I have since I got it!!

Thanks for the reply Groundzero3 and tmx.

Pretty much what I thought, I even asked BT if they could provide me with a 1meg line, "Yes, but its a business package", they said at a cost of £312.00 per month!!!

Will probably stick with Virgin, a 1 meg line will cost £45.00

BIG DIFFERENCE.

I really wanted cable though, for phone, tv and net, but as I'm in 'the sticks a bit', its not available.
