Shuttle SB61G2 Video Problems

Ok here's my system.

Shuttle SB61G2 Barebone.
Intel P4 2.4GHz 800MHz FSB
GEIL 512MB PC3200 DDR RAM
Seagate 80MB 7200RPM 8MB Cache.
ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 PRO 128MB AGP.

I've also got a DVD/CDRW Combo and a the typical FDD and everything but here's the thing... I'm not getting a video signal! Has this happened to anyone right out of the box? I'm pretty friggin sure I didn't fry anything. Oh, and that's the video signal off of the onboard graphics chip. I've tried the ATI card as well but here's the problem with that. When I hook the card up to the internal power supply the system won't start. I know it's not the power supply because the system won't start even when the ATI card is the only thing on the supply chain. I figure it must be the AGP voltage or a conflict with the onboard chip but I can't get to the damn system bios! I don't know what to do guys! Throw out a little help!

First, unplug everything non-essential: the DVD, FDD, HD, no AGP or PCI cards, mouse. Then try to boot. Still no, try another keyboard. Still no, clear the cmos. Still no, check ALL the jumpers per the manual (http://www.shuttle.com/new/support/d...p?model=SB61G2).

Also check all connections: ATX, DIMM. Make sure the voltage switch is correct on the PSU in the rear (should be 115, not 220). If you can, try another stick of DDR.

You don't have to do them in that order, either. You may want to start with the jumpers. All this and still no? Let me know, we'll try some other tricks...

come on guys.
250 viewers and no respond !
again the system wont start unless i take of the power cable from the 9800, after that i press the power botten and the system starts normaly with no problem and then i reconnect the power cable back to the 9800. aftem i do that ,even if i restart the PC it will restart normaly.but if i turn it off and wait for a while ...it wont start unless i do the trick all over again.
please guys and but the way my system is all new every single peice of it,
Shuttle SB61G2
P4 2.6g
120 g HD
another 120 G HD (yes 2 HDs)
1 G RAM DDR400 kingston
sony DVD+-RW
ATI All-In-Wonder 9800 PRO 128MB AGP

first of all im really disappointed with this message board ! more than a 100 viewers and no one even cared about my problem. i posted on other message boards and got few replays.
2ed i called shuttle and they told me there seem to be a voltage leak from the AIW 9800 ! .it make sense. cuz the power supply ckecks the voltages leaks(newer Power supplies) instantly when you press the power bottom, if the power cable is disconnected from the 9800 in that moment, the PC will start normaly and after that i reconnect the power cable back. thats why this card worked fine with my old PC(with old power supply).

i will exchange my card for another hopfuly it will work. anyway...is there a way to stop the power supply for checking the voltage leaks?

Well, since it worked when you unplugged the video card power then probably the SHuttle doesn't have enough wattage to support that.

Lemme find the link,
http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/

That's the case for Rotsu but I have no idea what would be wrong with mojoscosco's. Do all your other parts work? Probably a dead mobo?

Rotsu - Just because nobody answers your post doesn't mean they don't care about your problem. It just means that nobody was able to offer a solution to your problem.

As for the problems you guys are having - ATI recommends a minimum 300 watt power supply when running a 9700 or 9800 card. I believe that Shuttle mini system only has a 200 watt power supply. You're obviously overloading the power supply, and the power supply will generally shut itself down when overloaded so that it doesn't burn up.

I know some people are using that system successfully with 9700 and 9800 cards, but its probably hit or miss as to how far an individual unit can be pushed before it shuts down.

thanks guys for the replay.
as for ragtop. the PS is not an a problem here,i tried my pc with GF FX5900 with no problems. i even tried this, make the AIW 9800 the only thing that connect to the PS along the the prossesor, same problem happened.you see the P4 2.6 and the video card are the only things connecting the PS,still it shut itself !
i still belive its defactive video card.i will exchange it and see what happens.
but thanks for the help.
any more help will be appreciated.
