Kids So what will 64-bit CPUs give us...

I'm confused. Could someone give me the facts of what we're going to see 64-bit processors do better? What will the 64-bit CPUs bring to the end user?

/AE

A fatter pipe to the processor that will allow it to do more things at once than a 32-bit CPU.

Also will allow a maximum of 8gb ram instead of 4. Might not help us, but Im sure somebody will use it.

I found a little diddy over at The Inquirer. It might shed some light on what you're asking.

World peace

As that article says servers for now, but I think when 64bit is brought to the desktop software devs will adapt there stuff to take advantage. As the hardware progresses so does the software. It is the natural evelution.
