SCSI Disk in Knoppix
I just downloaded Knoppix to play around with it; I'm very impressed. On my usual gaming box, it found all of my hardware, including a USB 2.0 card and the SD reader attached to it (I could look at my pictures). Internet access worked right off the bat, and LinNeighborhood only required that I add the workgroup name to browse my shares. MY network printer was detected without a problem, and the included port scanner utility is cool.
When I loaded it on my server, it found all of my drives, but my SCSI disk (/mnt/sda1) showed a bunch of "weird" directories and file names. That drive is normally mounted in Mandrake 9.1 as /var (mainly so my MySQL stuff survives re-installs/updates). How can I make it show the files correctly in Knoppix? I would like to be able to save configuration files, etc. to this drive in Knoppix. I know only enough about Linux to do what I need (MySQL, Samba, SSH, FTP). Thanks in advance.
