Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Install problem

I just bought the game for 30$. It installs fine, then I start the program and it begins to load up the game, (problem) once it finishes loadin, when the game should start it just shuts down the whole program... no warnings no nothing. There were some scratchs on the disc and i have a feeling it might not have installed all of the data but i just dont know. just wondering if y'all might be able to help me come to some conclusions about how i can get this amazing game up and running.

thx

Latest version of DirectX installed? Latest drivers for sound/vid? Soundcard is? Have you tried uninstall/re-install yet?

I got the patch, while installing it pop up with an error saying that the old file does not exist. Now when I open the game it says that it fails to load meshes/cursor.nef and that it connot load it..... then shuts down again..

arghhh
I got that same error when I install the patch. I thought it was just because I got my game with my vid card...

You didn't buy this from some guy did you?
Straight from the store?!

Hmm maybe try reinstalling the primary game, then reinstalling the patch.

Even if you have integrated audio check your drivers.. I have an MSI board with the integrated audio but I made sure to update the drivers for it

Perhaps you could take the game back to where ya got it from and ask to swap it for another copy cuz it wont install correctly?

or maybe try getting that missing file directly off the cd yaself and copy it over manually?

I can't even look on the cd to see if thats possible cuz i dunno what happen to my morrowind cd... was looking forward to reinstalling it and playing it again actually... I've got the tribunal cd but thats not much good on its own...
