Systems SMC Barricade - lost password!

First post, so here goes...

I've recently installed an SMC Barricade 4701BRA ADSL router and have been changing the config on various parts of it, but I now cannot log back in as it tells me the password is wrong (but it definitely isn't).

I was working on it and it needed a reboot and after that it seems to think that the password has changed - it's all working ok (hence my internet connection now), but I need access, obviously.

I http to the IP addy, input the user and password and after about 3 or 4 failed attempts it locks me out.

Does anyone know how to reset the password on these routers without being able to login? It's driving me nuts!!

Thanks,
Sam

I forgot my password to the setup screens of the Barricade

If all passwords have been tried and still no access to the setup screens of the Barricade. Resetting the router to factory defaults is the only option.

On the back of the Barricade you will find the reset button. You will need a pen or a paperclip to press it. Press and hold down the reset button for a period of 5 to 8 seconds then let go. The lights on the router will blink as the router goes through a self test on boot.

note: All settings in the router will be lost and put it back to factory defaults. Contact your ISP or network Administrator for the information you will need to reconfigure the Barricade.

Hmmm, I thought of that, but couldn't actually see a reset button on the back of my router??!!

I'll have another look tonight when I get home from work.

Thanks people.

Well I've checked and my SMC4701BRA doesn't have a reset button... not that I can see anyway.

I't just got 4 ports on the back - 1 dsl RJ-11 input, one power sicket, 1 ethernet socket and a usb connector.

Could it be that I have to connect via USB to reset the password?

I've tried the USB connector, but you still have to connect via a web browser so there's no way to access any password information.
