I would make my own computer anyday than buy one from a dealer now, completely customizable and the accomplishment of making it.

your father did not overpay for anything.

Sound Card: Integrated AC97 audio
Video Card: Integrated in 845GL chipset (most likely shared with the system memory)

The soundcard on your motherboard is 10000X times better than the hp motherboard. The motherboard you bought, i have the same one and its one of the best on the market!


that HP would not be able to touch your computer in any way shape or form.

Your dad did not get ripped off, the people who are bidding on that machine are. Your machine will should hold you up for the next two to three years depending on what you do with your computer.

The hp on the other hand will only be good for the next 2 months at best
