BF1942 suggestions
I am looking for suggestions of bf1942. I am hosting a mini-lan(5-7). I have a 1.7ghz decitated server for this. What would be some good things to do.
How about some suggestions for my lan?

what do u mean? "things to do"? I would play games.
Get the desert combat mod for bf1942. I think it's cool.

There are a couple cool mods out. One of which and getting huge is DC(Desert Combat). Another is a some Pirate mod, forget the name. There is a site that hosts many mods for this game, but, I don't remember the name and have the link on my favs list at home. I'm sure someone here can post it, I think its www,bf1942.com or .de or something. You could try jeep or pontoon boat racing(kinda boring). there are capture the flag maps also

another good mod (other than desert combat) is parallel world...its got some fun things like spider tanks and towering robot tanks, plus some nice weapons too. A good place for BF mods is www.planetbattlefield.com The only drawback is finding servers running the mod...just a few out there at best, but if you are going to be hosting in a LAN, then no problem.

Invent some tactics, create a scenario.
Me and my mates said "OK, we're in this fortress, you've gotta take it from us"
It was the base on top of the hill in the first level, it was great, 8 on each team. (16 real players in all).
Create scenario's, or have a race with jeeps.

Maps
I personally LOVE Desert Combat. It's a great MOD and it's not even half done.
If you run DC, get some custom maps. Road to Basra, Battle for Irbel, Al Khafji Docks and '73 Easting are all good maps.
Get screenshots and send them to your friends as a kind of update of the day's fighting.

desert combat is gay imo. Its unrealistic, too many people use rockets as guns against people, not tanks. I guess im just old school bf, dont really like this new stuff.
You should give Eve of Destruction a try. Awsome vietnam mod.
