What do you mean "won't play the dang game"?

What does it do? Does it give you an error message? Is it just slow? What exactly isn't working?

It keeps telling me to insert the cd and click ok. I do it, and nothing happens. My friend did the same thing and it wont work on his pc either.

When I get home, I'll see exactly what the message is....

Send a message via Yahoo to rastorize
Did you happen to check for and install any of the patches available?

If memory serves Half-Life has problems with computers that are above 2Ghz. I believe you need a patch.

http://ftp.wireplay.co.uk/halflife/patches/

I haven't tried those patches but they should work.

Also it might have been 3Ghz and above, I don't remember right off hand.

Do you have more than one CD, like a CD and a cd/rw or dvd? Some older games have that problem if you have more than one CD drive and usually there is a patch by the company to fix it.

To make it look better, run it in OpenGL and turn up the Aniso and turn on the Quincunx! You've got more than enough power to make it look good!
