KT7A RAID IDE 3/4 problems

I have a KT7A-RAID with an Athlon 1.4 processor.

The HPT 370 driver is version 5.1.2600.1106. And the BIOS has been updated to A9. The SCSI RAID driver does show in the device manager of Windows XP.

The CD-RW drive is recognized on the CMOS boot-up scan (just after the CTRL-H message to configure RAID).

The drive is recognized by XP when attached to Channel 1 or 2.

IDE Channels 3 and 4 are enabled in the BIOS setup.

I did have it working before a recent HD Crash and Burn. So, I have just reloaded OS and drivers. Are there any issues with installation order? Any other ideas?

Just in case anyone else runs into this problem...

I am not sure why (maybe updates from Microsoft that I did not have before?), but when I put my HDD on Channel 3 and my two CDRW drives on 1 and 2 everything works great. Before my HDD crash and subsequent reloading, the CDRW drives worked fine on the 3rd and 4th IDE channels.

In the bios set the controller to ATA100 for your hard drive on IDE3. CD-Roms do not work on IDE 3 and 4 at least according to the manual when I used that board.

BTW, I did move both CD's to channel 1 and 2 and all is well!
