Fan controllers

Hello again

I dunno if i should buy a fan controller or not... i like the idea of quieting down my computer when im not doing anything strenuous

but i am afraid that if it gets accidentally turned all the way down that my system would over heat? would that happen??

thanks

eryk

You should get those fans that lower their speed by themself when the temperature is good, ans speed up if the temp is high...

vantec something.... look 'em up

Don't know about your computer (as you didn't post your system specs) but with mine and a Nexus fan controller my system is nice and quiet.

4 80mm case fans

i just bought 3 single fan controllers at 4.25 a piece, and am getting ready to purchase a zalman 6 fan controller for 30.00... I can imagine that at a maximum of 6v reduction in power, fan noise would drop dramatically.

although you will have to watch your temps.

i have a fan speed controller, it only lowers them to half speed not all the way down and it does a little with the noise. what else i have is called a didital dock 5 it controlls up to 8 fans and senses 8 different temps locations of your choice and if it gets to a set temp it will turn on or off the fan for that location

I got one this weekend and haven't played with it much, so I haven't really noticed any big differences in temperature. I think as long as you keep an eye on the temperatures in your case using motherboard monitor or a similar program, you'll be OK.

I mainly like the option to turn down the fan speeds if I want to do something quiet, but I've got an auto-adjusting fan on my hard drives and left the CPU fan alone.. Those can heat up very quickly so I'd rather have them automatically adjusted.
