Windows XP
After 30 days if I don't activate Windows XP...what happend?

It won't allow you to get to the desktop. To continue using you will have to format and start all over again.

Why don't you want to activate?

Its not scary or anything.

I had an argument...And I was saying the same as what you say...but my friend says...only a few things stop working...so just to be right...

No...Shahani is absolutely correct it will stop you from logging on and only allows you 2 options, shutdown windows or activate...On several occasions when I was testing XP before I activated my copy, It actually gave me less than the 30 days...you may want to back-up anything you have accumulated if your not planning to activate. Just a heads up.

No, everything stops. You won't get to your Desktop.

Microsoft has done this to counter privacy. Pretty effective too.

Not 100% but not 0% either.

Before XP, people loaded windows on any number of Pcs by "borrowing" from friends/office.

Now that is no longer possible.
