If your a gamer.... buy a new video card

The new 5900 Ultra blows away Radeon 9800 Pro

If your more of Application guy... Get some more memory

But i dont suggest upgrading your process due to the fact that 64-bit proccessing is coming out this winter and it would be a waste of $

Don't buy anything if you're happy with your computer.

It's tempting to upgrade and upgrade, but if there's no real reason to do it, don't.

Your system sounds fine, yeah try getting a new Video card. But I would not go with the FX 5900, the detonator drivers have been having trouble with Pixel shading lately. I would go with the 9800 Pro 128 , Its not as much as the 5900, and will rock for years to come. You can find the 9800 Pro 128 on Newegg for around $370 and on pricewatch $340. and with the extra money I would get a Nforce 2 motherboard.

Whatever you do, get rid of that MX!!

Your Processor is still pretty good. Yeah then if your having trouble with your mobo, definetly go with the Nforce 2, I personally like the quality and value of the MSI K7N2 MOBO Found it for $121 On newegg.

i was thinking about getting a new mobo since i have shorted 2 of the 3 three pin connectors on the board... (see the forum about stupid things people have done...) plus i will probably want to upgrade the processor sooner or later...

btw, why so strong about getting rid of the mx?

THE MX is a very old and weak card that dont support DX 9. It is built of of the Geforce 2. It also wont be able to do soon to be released games such as Doom 3 of Half life 2.

I think thats all that needs to be said about the MX! lol!

well the new games that have been coming out will not preform so well on a 64mb card.... I use to have the same exact card you have.... I got like 20-35 fps on Ravenshield which is a beautifully graphic'd game... I upgraded to a 128mb version of the MX440se and now i get 60-80

If your not a hardcore PC gamer... you dont need to upgrade!

And dont waste your money on a proccesor at the moment! as i said.... 64-bit is around the corner
