My computers died!

Ok First off I got my new asus board last week. I played with it loved it then whel overclocking it it wigged out and decided not to work. I tried everything, I mean everything. But then I finaly gave up and gunna rma the stupid thing. So I was like dam now I have to use my ghetto old ecs k7s5a and 2000+. I reinstalled it in my case and no go. Yet again I tried everything. So I was like maybe my cpu died. So I went and got the cpu out of my moms computer(same cpu). And tryed to put it in there no go. Then I was like i will see if my 9700 even works. Put it in my moms computer and it jsut beeps. So I have finaly come down to the conclusion that both my old cpu and mobo are dead and my new mobo is dead. Just thought you would like to hear me bitch and moan.

sounds like the CPU fried if you tried it on both mobo's and neither of them post. Sorry to hear about your dilemma

Have you tried a known good stick of RAM? I had a similar problem and narrowed it down to the RAM. I replaced the RAM that was in the board with a known good stick and the box came back to life.

If I am interpreting this correctly, you have fried both your old cpu and your new motherboard.
I don't think your mobo just decided not to work, I think you went too far , or did not pay attention to the limits of your new board.

It is a costly mistake. If you OC the next unit, take it a little slower, it will pay off.

Just my 2 cents

Tarp

Have you tried another known good power supply?? Tarpats comment about RAM is also a good one. Don't assume that three or four parts suddenly failed at the same time until you've eliminated all the other possibilities.

Any of the components that you used to test each configuration could be bad - RAM, PS........ although pretty rare, a bad monitor, keyboard or mouse could even cause these problem under certain conditions.
