Well a short time later and a quick rebuild of the nvidia module and all is looking good.

Hey Paul, hows life? I attempted to PM you a while back but your inbox was full

Anyway, yeah the nvidia module works but you need to extract the source from the installer and then run a quick diff against it. Instructions and patch here.

My config can be found here however it builds a rather large kernel as it has XFS and SCSI support built in.

Yep, interactive tasks seem to perform better. The "wiggle a window while playing an mp3" test produced no glitches and movie playback was not effected by rapid desktop switching etc (which it was under 2.6.0-test1). Not sure why this should be but I will have a look into it when I get a minute.
