Just built a
new system, Asrock K7S8X Mainboard,K7 Athlon Xp2000 C P U, 256Mb DDR Memory 40 Gb Maxtor DiamondMax Drive. Had problems booting up, only had a Windows 98 boot disk
I can get into bios but can't figure out how to format and partition
the hard drive, no O S yet but hope to maybe get win.XP.
Also C P U only seems to be running at 1250Mhz

you can't format thru the bios . and there is no need to really if you have a real ms cd it will format for you . if you want to partition it use the boot disk u have and type fdick at the dos promt . follow instructions .

your cpu is at 1250 because the fsb is set to 100 . 100x12.5 =1250

LOL SPEEDO!

You could also wait and use your WinXP CD to format your hard disk, especially if you want to format NTFS. The Win98 boot disk will only do FAT32.

Thanks for all your help Iv'e changed the F s b to133 now running at 1667Mhz will recieve a X P cd today and all should be ok
