Talk How to permanently remove status bar?

I admit it, i want to have my computer how i want it..I got Windows XP Pro that Looks like Jaguar from Mac.
I want to get ride of my status bar permanently.
Any ideas? going to view and uncheck status bar is not enough for me...Thank you

if you want the classic old look

right click on my computer, click propertises, click the advance tab, click preformance, then click uses for best preformance. that willl get rid of most of the eye candy

what is this status bar ?

I would like to know exactly the opposite. Mine disappears all the time and I like it there

GZ3, It's that bar at the bottom of the screen just above the task bar that displays the status of whatever you are doing. If you click 'view' and then 'status bar', it turns it on and off, however windows does a poor job of remembering the setting you left it at.

I like it as well. I believe there are some issues or a bug in MS. IE never gives me a status bar when I open new window.Possible solution to the question or fix is here
