How powerful of a pump do I need for my water cooling setup?

Dangerden Maze4 AMD block.
Dangerden Geforce 3 block.
Dangerden Z-chip chipset block.
Innovatek HDD cooler.
Heatercore.

I'm going to go with the ViaAqua pumps;

The problem is I can't decide if I should go with the one listed for "Max GPH 370", or "Max GPH 740".
Another thing confusing me is that the one rated for 740GPHmax also says "Max GPH at 4ft is 310".

Cost isn't an issue, but I think I could cause problems if I get a pump that's TOO powerful.

Yes, too powerful a pump can be a bad thing. IMO, the smaller of the two should be plenty for you.

"Max GPH at 4ft is 310" means that at a 4' head, the pump will only move 310 gallons per hour. In other words, if your pump was on the floor for some strange reason, and your PC was on your desk (4' above the floor) then the pump is going to move less water because it has to fight gravity.

Another option you can consider is to get two smaller pumps and put them in one large sump (like a tupperware dish) so if one pump goes down, at least you're still moving some water.

the 1300 is plenty...that's what I have...

But if you go with ViaAqua, put your barbs in and epoxy EVERYTHING ... it's $12 for a reason
