Radeon 9800 is the best right now. You can get the 9800 non pro for $244 shipped. If you can afford that go for it.

You will need a 4 pin power supply connector to run that video card. Other then that, it should work in all AGP equipped mobos.

The Ti4200 card would be an alright choice. Unless you plan on upgrading in the near future you really don't need to get a 8x AGP vid card. You could get a Ti4600 for not much more in a 4x AGP.

4600 is a bout 20% faster than the 4200 but apart from that has the same feature set (excluding AGP speed). Ignore 8x and 4x it has a minute bearing on card speed. It is only if you run out of card memory (which is unlikely with 128mb) and for the initial transfer of textures etc to the card (and since 4x is over 1gb/sec and a 128mb card only holds 1/8 of a gigabyte, expect to not notice this).
Regards,
Elad.

With your current system, anything more than a GeForce 4 would be overkill. Search around - You can get some pretty good deals on them. $100 for a refurb 4400 at compgeeks, Newegg goes through a lot of refurb cards, and has some new 128mb Ti 4200s in the $120 range.

Edit : You know, you could get an 8500LE class Radeon in the $70 range.

The Radeon 9200 doesn't seem too bad, it still supports pixel and vertex shaders like the latest cards to enable great graphics in Doom III or HL2.
