Kids Quick Launch Toolbar organization issue

Hey everyone I'm trying to organize my quicklauch toolbar to make my desktop a cleaner environment. and I want to add some dividers (just like the ones in any other programs toolbar). I'm following the tutorial here in this link toolbar dividers, but it is not turning out like they are showing.

Has anyone done this sort of thing and maybe someone can help me out. I know this is easy, but I can't figure out for the life of me why it is not transparent like they show. I'm attaching a picture of what I got on my computers toolbar. look on the link for what I'm trying to create.

Maybe there's an easier way to do this that I'm not aware of. I really don't want to install any third party application that does the same thing as the quicklauch toolbar. I just want to use the windows one. I just want it to be organized.

Using windows 2000

Thanks,

Gary

Yeah, I know they were for 98, I just figured that they would work for 2000 also

You know any other ideas I can try. I also tried making the background of the icon a light grey instead of the blue like they mentioned just to see if I could make it "look" transparent and match the toolbar. That was a no go as well...

Any Ideas...

Thanks,

Gary

yeah i did that too i dont think it can work. what you may be able to do is create a few toolbars, and that will give you the seperator.

Yeah, I thought of that as well, but I'd kind of like to keep them all in one toobar if possible. I might try looking around the net for free Icons that already has one that kind of looks/does what I'm trying to do. Then creat a dummy text file and change the icon associated with it. If I can't find a free on that is already created then I will have to do multiple toolbars I guess

Thanks,

Gary

if you get iconforge from www.download.com i know you can create a good icon that will work.

Got it to work! Using Paraben's Icon builder Just did a real quick one. I'll probably make it nicer, but I just wanted to see if it was going to work. I used the same technique as my earlier post except for making the .ico file out of a .bmp I used the Icon builder. I .scf file and everything works the same.

Have a look

Cool

Nice job but truthfully all it seems to me you did was take up more space by adding in those dividers. Whats the difference truthfully between just having your icons grouped without the divider and thus taking up less space?
