XP Shuts Off Randomly While playing games.

Hi, My first post in TechImo has to be a bad one

Anyways My problem is that. Whenever i play a game on my computer. Its shuts off randomly. Whether it be Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne or Counter-Strike it does it randomly.
Its been working fine yesterday. But this morning the problem started.

This is my spec.
Pentium 4 1.8 GHZ
2 Stick of 256 DDR
GeForce4 Ti 4400
SoundBlaster Audigy
2 40 GH Maxtor HD

I went to bios and checked the Temps. And both were lower than 40 Degrees Celcius.

I have 2 fans infront of my computer thats sucking in air. and 2 on the back sucking out the air.
And i have a fan on my videocard and the CPU. All fans are running well. I reinstalled my drivers. I even put the power cord to its own outlet. Anyone care to help?

Done a virus scan?
Test the memory...pull one stick out try a game then swap them.
Whats your OS and your Motherboard?

Maybe its your video card. Ive heard a lot of people having trouble with the TI4400's thats why nvidia discontinued it.

WHOA!!!! what did you say!! Give me info!! I have one if the ti 4400 cards, XP sometimes shutdown randomly, but I think that is because of poor overclocking on my part.

4400's discontinued? Do you have any info on this?

For free virus protection, try downloading and installing AVG anti virus. It's a great, free antivirus program, and can be found here:

http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php

Also, definately install AdAware, as it can detect spyware, adware, and some trojan's, and is an extremely useful tool to have on the computer. You'd be suprised to see how much crud you may have inadvertantly installed, and some of the stuff out there can really goof up your system.
Adaware can be found and downloaded here:
http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10...ml?tag=lst-0-2

If your system shuts down every time you run a game, or any program, it could also be either a heat related issue, a bad memory stick, or goofed up system files. I'm going to lean towards the second of the three right now, though, and suggest you run memtest86, which can be found here:

http://www.memtest86.com/

And if Nvidia discontinued the 4400's because of technical issues with the cards, I'm sure it would have been plastered all over the internet. I don't remember seeing a story along those lines, though. I know Gainward had issues with their 4200's, but not with the 4400's. If the 4400 is discontinued now, it's because of the whole FX series card release, and not because of problems with the cards themselves.
