A7V333 CD and Onboard Audio Problems
I've built a system from scratch with an A7V333 MB. I'm having 2 problems. First on a cold reboot, the CD (secondary IDE, master) isn't recognized. Once the OS is loaded, a hot reboot shows the device properly. Second, the on-board audio will not operate properly (Windows XP) - very distorted barely audible sound. Loaded latest drivers, finally disabled on-board audio and added sound card. Also noticed that with the onboard audio enabled, the modem (PCI) didn't work, that problem went away with audio disabled so I suspect some sort PCI, IRQ, I/O address conflict. But nothing shows up on hardware device display.
Configuration is the following:
A7V333 MB (no raid or firewire)
Version 1016 BIOS (haven't loaded 1017 which is now available)
20 MB MAXTOR HD
CENTYNE 52/24/52 CDRW
NVIDIA AGP RIVA TNT2
PHILLIPS PCI SOUND CARD
LUCENT WIN MODEM PCI CARD
IDE QIC TAPE DRIVE
3C0M ETHERLINK XL 10/100 PCI CARD
FIREWIRE PCI CARD
PS. The CDROM problem occured with a plain CDROM device and with modem removed.
