usb optical mouse

I am haveing the same problem with the optical and also a starndard mouse. It freezes up and after you move it back and forth alittle bit it makes a sound come from the speakers and it starts working agin, then after a minute or two it does it again. The sound sounds like something from ages of empires. It freezes like that on the desk top and in game play also.

It was working fine till about 2 days ago, I thought it might have been the optical mouse going bad so I switched back to a standard mouse, and It is still doing the same thing.
Tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling them still have the same problem.
I have had the same system for over 2 years with no problems.
I tried to roll system back to a earlier time but it will not let me.

Mouse pause can happen when the system is under heavy load, Check what programs are running in the background, and start shutting them down one at a time until the problem goes away.
