well, i got a job in a new linux company, and they want me to install redhat.
i dont think it would be much of a problem, i used debian and stuff. except i think my floppy isn't working. can't have a boot disk.
is redhat like windows? deletes ur boot program
the one im using is grub. and i got debian/sid and windows 98 on the partitions.
are there anything i should do before installing redhat? since i really dont feel like having a hard time with redhat "since its the 1st time im gonna be using it!" .
so guys, let me know if there's anything i should do "cuz i'd really dont wanna have problem booting to debian after installing redhat!"
i'll go make a partition for it. 3 gb is more than enough, right?
hello,
redhat and debian are not that different - in dealing modules and some file names they are - and oh yea - the bigg is is debian has apt which works better than apt4rpm - redhat has some GUI tools. redhat 9 uses grub too - redhat will ask to install a bootlaoder , do know where you existing partions are and choose expert mode.

Odds are very good there are several spelling mistakes in this post.
hey there, actually i finished installing it,
thanx for the reply. all i had to do is edit menu.lst manually and creat an entry for my debian partition. thats all.
thanx for the concern though
you should be able to add an entry into /boot/grub.conf with the location of your debian partition, as well as the label and any arguments that need to be passed to the kernel, etc.
