For $ 200.00 more you get a real computer. Love mine. Had it 9 months and has been dependable and a joy to have.

.
Esspecially like the CD burner and DVD player combo. Bought an external floppy for downloads and small file tranfer. Very fast, stable computer. ( no service packs installed )

Yea, but that computer is over double the weight of the lindows laptop. I'm going to be carrying this thing around school, so weight is a major factor.

I was looking into getting one of these too for school. I kinda need something light, and as for the lack of an optical drive, this isn't a desktop replacement. My 2.6ghz P4 is for the heavy duty stuff. 2.9 lbs is amazing; its not everyday you find a sub-notebook under 3lbs for less than $2000, most of them don't have optical drives either. This would rock with a wlan card, and since it has a compact flash card I could switch the card between this and my Pocket PC. Do you think that processor is suitable to run Windows XP on though, since i need Windows for school?

It looks good. Not sure if the VIA CPU is even capable of running Windows though.

But if you keep Lindows on it and use OpenOffice you'd be fine as you can save documents into MS Office formats in OpenOffice.

I assume it would since it is supposed to be a sort of "imitation" P3 and that it is in some desktops sold that run windows.

I know this thread was made a while ago, but I just thought I'd let you guys know a little about this laptop. I searched the internet everywhere trying to find reviews on it, but with no luck. I ended up taking a chance and ordering the laptop. I'm glad I did! It performs great and does everything I want it to. After playing around with lindows for about 5 minutes, I decided to format and install WinXP. It had no problems whatsoever loading the operating system. The only thing that was difficult was searching out proper video drivers for WinXP. I found the Savage 4 Integrated Video drivers (Twister) and it worked great. I've had the laptop for over a month now and had no problems with it. The construction is very good and there are no loose or cheap components. I looked again today for reviews, but didn't turn up much. If anyone has any other questions regarding this laptop, I'll be happy to answer them.
