RAM cost vs. quality

I just bought a stick of Legacy Electronics SDRAM 512MB PC3200. It came in a special deal with my ASUS A7N8X DX mobo. I can't find any rating for the quality of this RAM and I don't see it being sold on nextag or newegg. From the company website I get the impression the Legacy is more of a supplier for OEM manufacturers. They claim to be high quality, but you know how that goes. ASUS doen't mention this particular type of RAM for this mobo, but it does list legacy as an approved supplier for other mobos. Does anyone have experience with this brand? If this brand is unreliable, what brand would y'all recommend? I'd hate to run out and spend a fortune for anther brand of RAM if I don't need to and this RAM is of good quality, but I do plan to overclock so the ability for the RAM to take higher voltage and speed will become a factor. Advice?

I've always used Crucial (Micron) www.crucial.com. Their site is easy to navigate, prices are good, and service is reliable.

I've never had a bad component, wrong component, or loat/delayed shipment.

Always get namebrand ram from a reputable supplier. I would stick with:
crucial
corsair
kingston/kingmax
mushkin
micron

not in that order btw

I've never heard of legacy making ram. I'd dump it off on ebay personally. generic ram is ok for some apps, but you take a chance of getting page faults and boot problems to name a couple.

I use Kingston and never had any problem. But most peeps prefer crucial.

I bought a stick of 512MB K-Byte memory, knowing they aren't namebrand, for only $40 after the rebates. And it's worked great for me on my ECS L7S7A2 motherboard.

As far as reliability goes, all name brand manufacturers should be pretty much equal, as they all use pretty much the same processes in making their value priced RAM. However, the biggest, most important reason to go with a name brand supplier versus someone you have never heard of before, is what if the stick of RAM you get is bad and you need to RMA it? With some of the lesser known manufacturers, it could end up being a big hassle or run-around. But then again, that's what reputable dealers are for.

All in all, if it works, it works. If it don't, return it.

I think Corsair is tops! I have a corsair 2700 and a kingston 2700 together on my board and they work flawless. Value RAM can be a nightmare, I went through random page faults and reboots and crashes over and over until I got better quality memory. Some may disagree but I think quality memory in a new system is way UNDERRATED, it is one of the most important pieces you can buy so do not skimp.
