jerky video

i just built a system for a friend. he says that in certian programs his video will get real jerky. a screen saver that pans is supposed to be smooth, but is not. he also says that one of his kids games (he thinks a driving game) is real jerky as well.

i haven't been over there to trouble shoot but any suggestions?

i'll check the drivers to make sure they're updated. could it possibly be a bad card or bad ram? i built two other identical systems at the same time with no problems.

setup:
ecs k7s5a/amd athlon xp 2400+
512 kbyte ddr ram
sapprhire radeon 9200 128mb ddr
enermax case with enermax 300w ps

What games? And how old are they? I had a problem with some old DOS games. I ended up disabling the L2 cache in the bios and all was well. Check your refresh rates too.
