Stock Heatsink Problem on my 2400+ and ECS L7S7A2

I just got my new replacement 2400+ and ECS L7S7A2 motherboard in the mail.

I've installed the motherboard and CPU, and now installing the stock retail heatsink that came with the CPU.

I get one side of the heatsink on, but the otherside doesn't reach the lugs on the socket. Why??! This didn't happen with my Igloo Silent Breeze before.

make sure the heatsink is facing the right way. The little "indent" on the bottom must be lined up with the "rise" on the socket that says "Socket 370" ( or some number). If you look at the heatsink sideways, one side fo the clip should be longer than the other side. Attach the shorter side to the mobo first, this gives you more leverage when attaching the other side.

Make sure your chip is set in the socket properly too. Wouldn't want half the pins sticking out or something.

I did that, and did the shorter side first.
Even if I got the clips down, the longer one dosn't reach.

This heatsink is significally smaller than my other one, which is most likely causing this....Because I can get the other one with no problem. I need to use this heatsink so I don't void the warranty...

This is very weird.

Dude, it's not gonna reach, I tried using a flat head screw driver but if I do not want to do that, it's going to crack.

Sorry about this tripple post, my dad was able to get it on with a bit of effort.

But, is it OK if I removed it a few times, is the thermal compound still alright?
