Food Who's brilliant idea...

You think they could have standardized input keyboards over the years... Take the phone pad and the number pad on a keyboard for example. One starts at the top and the other at the bottom.

I like most people are dealing with both all day at work, and I am forever misdialing numbers on the phone.

7 8 9 1 2 3
4 5 6 => 4 5 6
1 2 3 7 8 9
keyb. phone

Very annoying, but I haven't found anyone doing anything about it yet, so I'll have to live with it

it isnt a problem for me when i use my keypad on the keyboard i punch in numbers with my entire hand (like im typing them) usually withough looking. as for the phone i normall use my thumb and watch myself the whole time. ive never been annoyed by it. it only annoyed me when i first started using the number pad, thats why i think alot of people(those who dont know) wont use the number pad because they believe it is harder.

What irks me, is the lack of standardization with ATMs and the card readers at the checkouts in stores. Some of them even look the same, but the buttons are configured differently. Sometimes you have to enter the "cancel" button OR use the arrow button that points to "cancel" in the led screen. Totally annoying. Target just installed new ones, that require you to use a stylus and a touchpad screen. Not bad, but I sure wish they ALL could have the same graphical user interface. Very much like the days of pre-windows software
