as it was said before, if you were to evaluate this game on just a game scale, it sucks. there is nothing exiting about it at all. you run away.
and i dont think you can compare this game to old war games for 2 reasons.
1. the wars happened a long time ago.
2. being in battle as a soldier is not the same thing as a civilian jumping out of a flaming building
the wars that are used in games took place quite some time ago, and time to heal has been given. there is also a sense of strategy to war, it does take skill, and does make for good gameplay and roleplay. just with the reputation soldiers have, you are rewarded for being a soldier. no one wants to be a terrorism victim. no one wants to jump out of flaming buildings. the tragedy of 911 is still a current topic, and still fresh on peoples minds and hearts. that is what makes this game so distasteful.

Lets make a Nazi concentration camp game where you are the prisoner and trying to survive. That game would be on the same level as the 9/11 game, IMO.

It was a terrible thing to happen, all those people killed. In the concentration camps. In that city in Germany during the 2 war when the fire storm was created by the constant bombing .Two Japanize cities ,tens of thousands in the blink of an eye.In Bosnia our satelites were focused in as hundreds of people were butchered. In the world trade center towers. There have been and there will be atrocities committed by both sides in every conflict and each side will justify the acts that they are accused of,it will never be right and it will never be stopped. Its life and all its shades, just so long as we never allow it to become an exceptable way of life.
Its a game and as was said before there are any number of games of violence out there that depict events in history, this event is no differant from any other in which innocents were killed senslessly.

As long as no-one looses their temper I see no harm in discussing this issue further even though there may be no end in sight.. Its interesting how different people see this issue and I'm sure everyone contributing to this thread is benefitting from it in one way or the other.

Yes, and if someone you knew was killed in a shooting spree... you would be against playing Postal where you kill people for no apparent reason, or if you knew a person who was killed by a car running over them, you would be against playing GTA... right?
More people die in gun violence in America than people died in Sept.11 yet I (and the majority of gamers around the world) play games that glorify killing innocent people with real weapons. That would be equivalent to be playing as the hijackers in the plane which would be even worse that this, and even though the games about killing innocent people are based on fiction, it has been derived from real life events... even if this MOD was released under the name of 'Get out of burning sky scrapers after planes struck them', it would have been equally (if not more) appaling in all of your eyes...
So I can't be hypocrite and talk against this game while turning a blind eye towards the others... thats just the way I see it... and I fear thats the way game critics like Senator Jack Wagner will see it...
